Muslim Community Celebrated Ramadan Bayram in Tbilisi Juma Mosque

On the 10th of April, one of the greatest holidays of the Muslim world, Ramadan Bayram was celebrated. The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, visited Tbilisi Juma Mosque and congratulated the Muslim community on the holiday. The Prime Minister emphasized the centuries-old, historic relations established between Christians and Muslims in Georgia: "We worked together for centuries, fought together for the well-being, progress and development of our common homeland. This is the relationship that we are very careful about and we will be careful in the future as well" - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to Zaza Vashakmadze, the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, the attention of the State towards Muslims is outstanding that is felt by the Muslim community as well.

Sheikh Faig Nabiev, Mufti of Western Georgia Adam Shantadze, Mufti of Eastern Georgia Etibar Eminov thanked the Prime Minister for congratulating the holiday and noted that the presence of government representatives in the mosque and sharing the joy of Ramadan Bayram once again demonstrates their respect for the Muslim community.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia Ali Kaan Orbay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev, representatives of the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia and the State Agency for Religious Issues were present in Tbilisi Juma Mosque.
