A new national-state project has been launched in Georgia that implies establishment of coherent religious policy based on national experience and the requirements of modernity causing the country to return to its rightful place in the contemporary civilized world.

For this purpose, on the state initiative and participation of the qualified experts, it became necessary to establish a special institute, the State Agency For Religious Issues, that considering  historical experience and universal values, in accordance with the challenges of modernity should develop recommendations based on professional studies and scientific analysis in the sphere of religion.
