Today at the Caucasus International University the “Transcaucasian Dialogue” was held that was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Bratislava process, its results and perspectives; as well as to the 25th anniversary of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly and the 15th anniversary of the security in Caucasus.
The event was attended by the representatives of the academia of Georgia, of the diplomatic corps of the neighboring countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia), of the embassies of the EU member states (Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria), of the international organizations and of the other governmental structures.
A regular meeting between the State Agency for Religious Issues and the Muslim community of Georgia was held at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

The chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze continues holding introductory meetings with the newly appointed ambassadors.
On the 16th of March, the chairman of the agency met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia H.E Seyed Javad Ghavam Shahidi.
Zaza Vashakmadze introduced the guest the country’s religious policy, main directions of the agency’s activities and the decisions made by the government regarding the Muslim community in recent years.
On the 24th of January, at the National Youth and Children’s Palace the State Agency for Religious Issues within the framework of the Governmental Action Plan on Protection of Human Rights in Georgia presented the projects and books fulfilled in 2016 that have been published by the agency:
On the 18th of January, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Lithuania to Tbilisi, Georgia Giedrius Puodziunas visited the Museum of History of the Jews of Georgia and Georgian-Jewish Relations and opened the exhibition – “Lithuanian Jews Beyond the Iron Curtain”.
On the 17th of January, at the Administration of the Government of Georgia the meeting between the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Poland in Tbilisi, Georgia Mariusz Maszkiewicz was held.
