On the 13^th of December the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria, Desislava Ivanova. The chairman and the Ambassador talked about religious policy in Georgia and Bulgaria and about those common challenges facing both Orthodox countries.

On the 1^st of December, in the regional administration of Samtskhe-Javakheti a regular meeting (Mokhe Commission), studying the circumstances regarding the building listed as a club in the village of Mokhe, Adigeni Municipality, was held. According to the decision of the commission:

oday the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze visited a synagogue in Gori and together with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel, Shabtai Tsur attended the prayer.

After the prayer, Zaza Vashakmadze condemned the fact of robbery of the synagogue and said the state would do its best to investigate this incident. According to him, it makes no difference whether it is a synagogue, mosque or a church as no one should dare to rob and misuse a place of worship. The chairman of the agency expressed 

At the Conference Hall of the Hotel Ambassadori a hearing of the report 2016 of the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia was held.

The event was attended by Muslim clerics, chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze, representatives of the embassies of Muslim countries and public figures.

At the presentation of the report the speakers provided thorough information to the audience on the activities of the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia fulfilled in 2016. The State’s promotion

State Agency for Religious Issues and Georgian Branch of FriedensBote Mission visited St. Ambrosi Khelaia School at the village of Salkhino, Martvili region and provided the schoolchildren with necessary humanitarian assistance, 2 tons of clothing.

There are 155 pupils in the boarding school and majority of them are socially vulnerable,

Today on the 28^th of November at the Administration of the Government of Georgia the next session of the “Recommendatory Commission on Financial and Property Issues of the Religious Organizations” under the State Agency for Religious Issues was held. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Armenian Apostolic Church, Muslim community and Jewish community.

On the 24^th of November, the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Georgia Arad Benko at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

The chairman of the agency wished success to the newly appointed Ambassador and expressed hope that the opening of the Embassy of Austria in Georgia would be a good basis for strengthening a co-operation and friendship between the two countries. 

On the 19^th of November Synod Sitting of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church was held

The sitting was attended by: the members of the Synod, chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze, German Embassy Cultural attaché Christopher Prontseki, delegation of Evangelical-Lutheran Church from Germany and as well as the clergy 

The chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze met with Rene Levonyan the president of the Eurasian Regional Armenian Evangelical Church.

Rene Levonyan briefed the chairman about his visit to the Middle East, particularly in Syria, Iraq and Libya, as well as the scheduled visit to Kosovo. The guest interested in the issues of religious tolerance and freedom of religion in Georgia.

Zaza Vashakmadze introduced the guest to the activities of the state in terms of freedom of religion and tolerance that contributes to harmonious coexistence of different religious confessions of Georgia.
