The introductory meeting was held between the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze and the representative of UNICEF Children’s foundation Ghassan Khalil at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

At the meeting, Zaza Vashakmadze provided the guest with information on the establishment and activities of the State Agency for Religious Issues. In particular, freedom of religion and human rights protection activities, funding of religious organizations, restitution of cult buildings, inter-religious council activities and on trainings and received declarations carried out within the framework of the Human Rights Governmental Action Plan.

Ghassan Khalil thanked Zaza Vashakmadze for the information provided. According to him, despite the five years of its activity, the agency has carried out a lot of important projects that promote democratic values and tolerance in Georgia.

At the end of the meeting, they planned joint activities and discussed future active cooperation issues.
