Today, in Marneuli,  the first meeting within the framework of the new project "State Language for Clergy" was held. Meeting participants were welcomed by: Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Giorgi Ukleba State Representative in Kvemo Kartli, Shota Rekhviashvili, Director of Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration Ketevan Jakeli, Deputy Minister of State Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Lia Gigauri, Muslim Sheikh of Georgia, Ramin Igidov, mufti of East Georgia, Yasin Aliyev, Marneuli Municipality Mayor, Zaur Dargali.

"We start from Marneuli, and then we will move to Dmanisi and Sagarejo where our Muslim compatriots will study the state language. The next stage will be in September, when the representatives of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia and the Catholic Church will be involved in the project, throught the whole Georgia, "said Giorgi Ukleba, deputy chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues.

The idea of the project was created by a cycle of workshops implemented across Georgia by the Agency - “Human Rights and Religious Tolerence” - within the framework of 2018-2020 Human Rights Governmental Action Plan during which it was revealed that the clergy of religious minorities participating in the seminars couldn’t understood the topic – due to the lack of the state language or not properly possessed. It was decided to implement the project of state importance, titled "State Language for Clergy", within the framework of which the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with Zurab Zhvania School of Public Administration.

The goal of the project is to popularize the state language, to improve the learning process and to integrate national and religious minority representatives into the united state space.
