The greatest wealth of Georgia is in its diversity, as our ancestors were building our common state over centuries together" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at Tbilisi Jumah Mosque when addressing the Muslim congregation gathered to celebrate Kurban Bayram today.
Head of Government of Georgia congratulated the feast to the believers and stressed the ancient tradition of peaceful co-existence of people with diverse ethnic and religious affiliations in Georgia.
"Strength of Georgia is in its diversity and in strong unity and bondage during a tragedy, while shared joy during happiness. Our duty is to carry these traditions to future generations. Kurban Bayram is a celebration of hope, love and support of the needy. It is my great honour to congratulate you with this feast. It is gratifying that it is celebrated by ambassadors of various countries together with our citizens and I wish to congratulate them too. Let me wish you peace and prosperity in a united and strong Georgia" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.
Event held at Jumah Mosque in Tbilisi was attended by religious leaders, diplomatic corps and Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Affairs of Georgia.
