President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili attended a reception in New York on behalf of the US President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump. Zurabishvili gifted Trump with a book,” Religions in Georgia”, published by the State Agency for Religious Issues. This is an album which includes for the first time the photos of religious buildings and biographies of religious leaders of the religious organizations existing in Georgia - Georgian Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church, Jewish community, Apostolic Administration of the Caucasus, Muslim community, Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Yazidi community, Evangelical-Lutheran Church, Union of Evangelical Christian Baptist Church of Georgia, Evangelical-Protestant Church, Evangelical Faith Church and International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The album includes the photos of the monuments in the occupied territories of Georgia, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region. The presentation of the album was held on February 7, 2019, and was attended by the leaders of religious organizations, members of the Parliament and Government of Georgia, diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations and experts.
The President of the United States and his wife hosted the leaders of the countries participating in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. The official reception is held annually in honour of the Heads of Delegations participating in the Assembly Session.
