Today at the administration of the Government of Georgia, the State Agency for Religious Issues hosted the representatives of the Union of the Blind of Georgia and the pedagogical staff of the 202nd Public Boarding School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The meeting, which aimed to raise public awareness of blind people and promote maximum inclusion of people with disabilities in the society, was attended by the Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Mikheil Sarjveladze. The presentation was led by Nino Chavchavadze, Head of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service of the Agency.

The hosts were interested in the needs of the Union of the Blind and the 202nd Public Boarding School and the problems they face. Revaz Maisuradze, Chairman of the Union of the Blind of Georgia and Tinatin Sabauri, Director of the 202nd Public Boarding School talked about these topics. As the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights noted, the Committee, together with the Agency, will be even more actively involved in solving the problems of these people.

In the end, the participants of the meeting were presented with inter-religious calendars printed in Braille, which has been printed by the Agency for four years in a row.
