The Catholic world is celebrating Christmas today. Christmas is also celebrated by Catholics living in Georgia. The Ambassador of the Holy See to Georgia, Jose-Avellino Betancourt, together with diplomats from different countries, attended the Christmas service in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tbilisi.
On behalf of the Government of Georgia, Sergo Parulava, Senior Specialist of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service of the State Agency for Religious Issues, congratulated the parishioners gathered in the church on Christmas Day in Georgian and Italian.
Avtandil Kvernadze, Head of the Legal Maintenance Office of the Agency and Giorgi Patashuri, Senior Specialist of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service attended the service.
"Let us pray together for Georgia," the Vatican Ambassador said in his speech, thanking the Georgian government and the Agency for their active cooperation.
