On the 18^th of January, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Lithuania to Tbilisi, Georgia Giedrius Puodziunas visited the Museum of History of the Jews of Georgia and Georgian-Jewish Relations and opened the exhibition – “Lithuanian Jews Beyond the Iron Curtain”. The exhibits reflect the situation of the Jews in the II World War and the Soviet period in Lithuania.

The exhibition was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Israel to Tbilisi, Georgia Shabtai Tsur, other representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Mikheil Giorgadze, State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and the Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze. Giedrius Puodziunas informed the audience about the situation of Jews in Lithuania at that time. The Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze noted, that he is proud to represent the country where in the period of our long-term relationship with Jews, including the Soviet Regime, there have been no discriminatory actions  against them.
