Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas

Today, the Georgian Orthodox Church celebrates the greatest holiday, Christmas, when the Savior, was born in a small cave in Bethlehem and marked the beginning of a new turning point in the history of mankind.

On the occasion of Christmas, a Christmas liturgy was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, led by the Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, the Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan Bishop of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II. The Christmas Liturgy was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, President Salome Zurabishvili, Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze and a specialist of the Legal Maintenance Service of the Agency Sandro Shekiladze and others.

The State Agency for Religious Issues congratulates the Orthodox Christians, the Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Georgia and the parish on Christmas, and wishes peace, unity and success.
