The State Agency for Religious Issues held a meeting with Catherine Cosman, commission officer of International Religious Freedom and the newly appointed counsellor to the US Ambassador Ryan Koenig

Zaza Vashakmadze, the chairman of the agency introduced guests the state religious policy, current situation in our country in terms of human rights protection and freedom of religion and government decisions made in this field. In particular, he talked about cooperation with religious organizations, property conditions of the confessions and financial support measures. Zaza Vashakmadze also referred to a two-year period of activity of the agency and those joint decisions that was made together with the religious organizations. The chairman stressed the importance of the Annual Reports of the US Department of State and the need of reflecting the actual situation in our country.

In the end, Zaza Vashakmadze provided the guests with the Agency’s Report 2014-15, interreligious calendar and together with the religious organizations jointly adopted declaration: “Woman - Envoy of Peace” and “Interreligious Dialogue for Peace
