The chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Georgia Heike Peitsch.
At the meeting they discussed in detail the issues regarding Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Georgia and agreed that in the nearest future on these matters a working meeting with the participation of the Bishop Hans-Joachim Kiderlen would be held.
The chairman of the agency talked about the importance of Georgian-German relationship and noted that the country has especially been preparing for the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Germans in Georgia.
Moreover, Zaza Vashakmadze introduced the Ambassador agency’s activities and offered co-operation on the important issues in the sphere of religion. Heike Peitsch accepted the proposal with pleasure and confirmed the embassy’s support and willingness for co-operation.
In the end, the chairman of the agency wished success to the German Ambassador and expressed hope that her activities will contribute to the further strengthening of existing friendly relations between the two countries.
Heike Peitsch thanked Zaza Vashakmadze for warm reception, interesting proposals and for support of the Lutheran Church.
