The State Agency for Religious Issues began conducting introductory meetings and planning co-operation with newly appointed ambassadors.
On the 10th of November, the chairman of the agency Zaza Vashakmadze met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic Of Latvia to Georgia Janis Zlamets at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.
The Chairman of the agency introduced the guest religious situation in Georgia and those decisions that the state made regarding religious organizations. They also talked about close and fruitful co-operation with the former Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Georgia, Elita Gavele. They also discussed European and Euro-Atlantic perspectives of Georgia and the issues concerning fulfilment of Association Agreement.
Zaza Vashakmadze and Janis Zlamets discussed several interesting and important issues of co-operation.
Janis Zlamets has been occupying the position of the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Georgia since August, 2016.
