In the frames of the visit of the State Agency for Religious Affairs in Iran, the delegation of the Agency held a meeting with the head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Abuzar Ibrahim Turkman in Tehran.
Ibrahim Turkman thanked the Chairman of the Agency Zaza Vashakmadze for his visit and informed about the organization's activities, religious studies and the Iranian culture week held in various countries, as it was mentioned at the meeting, the organization has 85 representations around globe. Abuzar Ibrahim Turkman expressed his desire to hold a Iranian culture week in Georgia.
Zaza Vashakmadze informed the host about establishment and activities of the Agency, talked about the demographic and ethnic characteristics of the Muslim community of Georgia and about the successful projects implemented by the state on the Muslim community. According to him, the Agency of Religions has close relations with the Organization for Islamic Culture and Relations in Georgia.
Ibrahim Turkman spoke about the necessity of correct learning of Islam and deepening cooperation with the religion agency in this regard. According to him, Georgia is the most Advanced in promoting religious freedom among post Soviet states. He also expressed desire to sign a bilateral cooperation memorandum between the Religious Agency and the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization.
