Aida Sarsale, according to Yezidi religious calendar is a New Year holiday that is also known as Festival of Wednesday. Aida Sarsale dates back to the ancient cult of Mesopotamia. It is a celebration of prosperity and renewal of life. Yezidis believe that on this day the archangel Tousey Malak will make a touchdown from heaven and bless the earth and in every family as a sign of diversity the eggs are painted in different colors.
Yesterday, in connection with the holiday a festive service was held at Tbilisi Yezidi Church in which many believers took part. The service was also attended by the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze who on behalf of the government of Georgia congratulated all the Yezidis on Aida Sarsale holiday.
