Today, in Prague, under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, the high-level International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance Conference was opened on the topic: “Freedom of Religion and Belief as a Source of Resilience and Religious Engagement”.
The conference was opened and the participants were welcomed by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel.
IRFBA Chairman, Dr. Robert Rehak, spoke about the five-year activities of the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance (IRFBA).
The conference is being attended by a delegation from the State Agency for Religious Affairs, representing the Chairman of the Agency, Zaza Vashakmadze, and the Head of the Legal Support Office, Davit Davitashvili.
Two speeches by the Chairman of the Agency are planned at the side events, the first - on the topic of violations of religious rights in occupied Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region, the second - on the situation in Georgia in terms of freedom of religion and belief.
The representatives of the Embassy of Georgia in the Czech Republic are attending the conference.
