At the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, the State Agency for Religious Issues held a presentation of the photo album "Functioning Cult Buildings in Georgia as of 2023", which was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Giorgi Volski, the chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Beka Odisharia, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Tea Akhvlediani and the representatives of religious organizations and the diplomatic corps.

The presentation was opened by the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze who welcomed the guests.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, addressed the gathering. The Prime Minister particularly noted the centuries-old tradition of religious diversity and tolerance of Georgia, successfully depicted in the photo album, and thanked the representatives of religious organizations for supporting a tolerant environment: "This project has a very high value and it is an important expression of the most essential tradition of our country - religious tolerance, culture of coexistence. It is also of particular significance that the album was created with the joint efforts of clergymen of various religious denominations, which is an extraordinary manifestation of interfaith cooperation," the Prime Minister noted.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, highly praised the new publication of the Agency and emphasized the peaceful coexistence of different religions in our country: "This book is much more than an archive of information and facts, it’s a treasure. This is the proof of our unity and the amazing diversity in this unity, the most important manifestation of the coexistence of people of different faiths. This album is a powerful reminder of what unites us. It tells us that our strength lies in our diversity, that the true essence of Georgia lies in mutual respect, that the love of one's faith does not diminish the respect of others, but on the contrary, makes it more acceptable in spite of its differences."

The participants of the presentation were introduced to the welcome letter of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, by the Chor Bishop of the Patriarch Metropolitan Theodore (Chuadze) of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarjeti Eparchy: "This is a kind of spiritual photo chronicle of our country in the first quarter of the twenty-first century. Georgia has always been distinguished by its tolerance, which is evidenced by the presence of many religious buildings of other religions in the Orthodox country. Despite different beliefs, what we have in common is the love of the motherland. I ask God to bless our population and all Georgia with peace and unity," it is said in the Patriarch’ address.

Zaza Vashakmadze, the chairman of the Agency highlighted the fact that the photo album was published on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Agency: "This publication is actually a chronicle of our cultural heritage, a manifestation of the tolerant environment that Georgia has always been proud of and will always be proud of" - noted Zaza Vashakmadze and informed the invited guests about the new project, which envisages the study of the facts of the repressions against the representatives of different denominations on religious grounds in Georgia during the Soviet period (1921-1991) and the identification of the repressed clergymen.

After the presentation, the guests were given a photo album "Functioning Cult Buildings in Georgia as of 2023", which will be a good gift for specialists in the field of religion and people interested in this topic.
