The delegation of the State Agency for Religious Issues the chairman of the Agency, Zaza Vashakmadze, and the head of the Legal Maintenance Office, Davit Davitashvili are visiting the U.S. State of Georgia. The first meeting of the delegation was held with the head of the Public Relations Department of the U.S. State of Georgia the lobbyist of the Christian Conference, Mike Griffin.

Mike Griffin spoke about the role of Christian values in the formation of the American nation and the state and emphasized the special phenomenon of recognition of God by Americans, starting with the official motto of the USA - "In God We Trust" and ending with the preamble of the Constitution of the State of Georgia - "Based on the Protection and Guidance of Almighty we draw up this constitution”.

Mr. Griffin spoke about the lobbying mechanism of the "Christian Conference" (a union of organizations of various Christian confessions) in the legislature of State of Georgia, the General Assembly, which consists of 236 delegates of the Senate and the House of Representatives, and about  the practice of adopting laws where, as a result of their efforts, Christian values were protected and reflected.

He also introduced the U.S. practice of the relationship between religion and the state to the Georgian side on the example of the U.S. State of Georgia.

The chairman of the Agency introduced the religious policy of Georgia to the host, talked about specific directions. Zaza Vashakmadze thanked Mike Griffin for sharing interesting information.
