Today, the delegation of the State Agency for Religious Issues was hosted by Artashes Tumanyan, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The chairman of the Agency, Zaza Vashakmadze, introduced the advisor to the Prime Minister to the main directions of the Georgian state's religion policy and state support measures for religious organizations, including the Armenian community, in particular the chairman spoke about the interreligious council and the active participation of the Armenian church in the council’s activities. He also touched on the activities of the Property and Financial Commission of Religious Organizations and the financing of the Armenian community, which in recent years has reached a million GEL.
During the conversation with the advisor to the Prime Minister, important issues regarding the transfer of religious buildings, the state of Georgia and the Church of Georgia were raised.
The meeting was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia, Giorgi Sharvashidze and the First Secretary of the Embassy, Shalva Sabauri.
The delegation includes Giorgi Patashuri, an analyst of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service, and Aleksandre Shekhiladze, a lawyer of the Legal Maintenance Office.
