The delegation of the State Agency for Religious Issues was invited by the Institute for Global Engagement to an official dinner. The chairman of the Agency, Zaza Vashakmadze, and the head of the Legal Maintenance Office, Davit Davitashvili, were hosted by the co-chairman of the International Religious Freedom Roundtable, Greg Mitchell, the vice-president of the Institute for Global Engagement, James Cheney and the senior scientist of the Institute for Global Engagement, the head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia department, Wade Cusack. They introduced the Agency's delegation in detail to the activities of the organizations and the implemented activities. Examples of cooperation with the governments of different states and the results of implementation of joint projects were interesting for the representatives of the Agency.
Zaza Vashakmadze, the chairman of the Agency, spoke about the religious communities in Georgia and the state's religious policy. The hosts were interested in the steps taken in the direction of freedom of religion. It was said that sharing the practice of Georgia in terms of inter-religious dialogue would be interesting for many states and they would be happy to use the results of cooperation with Georgia in future programs.
It should be noted that relationship with the Institute for Global Engagement was started during the visit of their representatives to the Agency in Tbilisi. Thus, holding a joint international conference in the near future can be considered as a continuation of fruitful cooperation. According to the participants of the meeting, representatives of the state or civil public organizations operating in the field of religious freedom of about ten countries will take part in the conference.
