The Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Georgia, Mahmud Adibi, the First Secretary, Ali Qorbani, and the Embassy's Counselor on Cultural issues Saadat Nejadi.
The Ambassador presented the cultural attache of the embassy to the chairman of the Agency. The Iranian diplomat thanked the Agency for supporting the Muslim community. According to him, the Government of Georgia is doing everything to protect the religious rights of Muslims, as a result, Muslims in Georgia consider themselves to be full-fledged citizens.
The Ambassador expressed his desire to hold joint events with the Agency, including planning a meeting of Muslim Shiites and Orthodox clerics on religious topics.
At the end of the meeting, Ambassador thanked Zaza Vashakmadze for the reception and invited him to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
