Today, at the Administration of the Government of Georgia, the Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, met with the Head of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration in Georgia, Lars Johan Lonnback.

The main topics of the conversation were: Georgia's state religious policy, the activities of the Agency, main functions, ongoing activities and implemented projects, state funding for religious organizations, the country’s tolerant religious environment, and the facts of grave human rights violations, including violations of religious freedom, in the Georgia’s occupied territories of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region.

Mr. Lonnback thanked the Chairman of the Agency for the substantive discussion and expressed interest in active cooperation with the Agency.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the guest was presented with the Agency’s publications - "Functioning Cult Buildings in Georgia as of 2023", "Functioning Cult Buildings in Tbilisi as of 2020", "Occupied Heritage", and "Religions in Georgia".
