The Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, H.E. Mr. Ali Kaan Orbay at the Administration of the Government of Georgia,

At the meeting, the visit of the chairman of the Agency to the Republic of Turkey was discussed. The Ambassador assessed the results of the visit as successful and noted that Turkey welcomes the deepening of relations between the Agency and its counterpart organization, Diyanet. At the meeting, they also discussed the case that happened in the settlement of Adigeni. According to Zaza Vashakmadze, the rights of all religious denominations are equally protected in Georgia, the State will be guided by such approaches in this particular case as well, and the mufti of Western Georgia, Adam Shantadze and the mufti of Samtskhe-Javakheti region Mamuka Vashakmadze, will be involved in the process. H.E. Mr. Orbay expressed satisfaction with the Agency's position and noted that Turkey appreciates the approaches of the Agency and fully supports it.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mahmut Goli, Counselor for Religious Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia.
