Catholics today celebrate the greatest holiday, Christmas. The Christmas liturgy was led by Bishop Giuseppe Pasotto at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church in Tbilisi. The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili attended today's festive service.
Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, on behalf of the Georgian government greeted the parishioners and clergy gathered at the church and wished them a Merry Christmas. "As a Christian, I believe that our presence together in Georgia and around the world will be a prerequisite for peace and success for the country," he said.
The solemn liturgy was attended by Davit Davitashvili, Senior Specialist of the Legal Maintenance Office of the Agency, and Zviad Tkabladze, Analyst of the Strategic Research, Analysis and Regional Service.
