At the Administration of the Government of Georgia Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia Maaike van Koldam.
Zaza Vashakmadze briefed Ambassador the religious activities of the agency, the country's religious diversity, and freedom of religion projects carried out by the state to promote tolerance in Georgia, the format of inter-religious council of and its operation, as well as the training conducted in the framework of governmental action plan and the other activities.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands thanked Zaza Vashakmadze for the information. According to her, Religious and functioning cult buildings maps issued by the agency clearly conveys religious diversity in Georgia. Maaike van Koldam emphasized that one of the most important priorities of the Kingdom of Netherlands foreign relations is human rights, including freedom of religion and expression, secularism and religious neutrality, therefore Embassy of Netherlands will actively cooperate with the State Agency for Religious Issues in this field.
