Today, on the sixth of January, the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church celebrates Holy Nativity, and Theophany of Jesus Christ.
Representatives of the State Agency for Religious Issues congratulated the parishioners gathered at the Surb Gevork Church in Tbilisi on the greatest holiday. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, Rev. Father Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan, conducted a Christmas service. This year, too, according to tradition, a festive service was held, water blessing was held and the service of immersion of the cross in the water was performed.
The service was attended by the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani, the Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Zaza Vashakmadze and the staff of the Agency. The Chairman of the Agency congratulated the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in Georgia, Archimandrite Kirakos Davtyan, the clergy and the parishioners on the holiday and wished them success and progress.
