Zaza Vashakmadze the chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues and Valerian Liluashvili the leading specialist of the agency’s Legal Maintenance Office, Nikoloz Antidze the director of the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia and his Deputy Paata Gaprindashvili visited the ruins of the Georgian church discovered in the villages of Softades and Alaminos of the Republic of Cyprus.

The church ruins in the village of Softades represent the monument of XIII-XIV century where the group of Georgian archeologists, in agreement with the Cyprus side, has been carrying out archeological- cleaning and conservation works for three years.

At the meeting, archeologists informed the delegation members on the current condition of the monument and talked about the planned conservation works.

The Georgian church ruins of the medieval period discovered in the village of Alaminos has already been undergone archeological-cleaning works and now its conservation is ongoing.
