The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Qian, visited the State Agency for Religious Issues.

The Chairman of the Agency, Zaza Vashakmadze, introduced the guest to the main functions and activities of the Agency, the religious policy of the Georgian Government and the religious landscape in the country. The Ambassador focused on the tolerant environment in the country, the issues of financing religious organizations and the transfer of religious buildings. Zaza Vashakmadze spoke about the facts of gross violations of human rights, including religious rights, in the occupied territories.

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia thanked Zaza Vashakmadze for hosting him. He was interested in the format of the Interreligious Council, which unites various religious organizations.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Agency presented the Ambassador with the publications of the Agency - “Functioning Cult Buildings in Georgia as of 2023”, “Functioning Cult Buildings in Tbilisi as of 2020”, “Occupied Heritage” and “Religions in Georgia”.
